Escaping a desk job in ’91 I set off on a ‘round the world’ trip.
From 3 months hardcore backpacking in Indonesia, where I received some painful ‘treatment’ / demon expulsion by a witch doctor, to bungy jumping in Queenstown adventure capital of New Zealand, I experienced it all.
I returned home 9 months later with a bad case of the travel bug.
The following 10 years saw me with a kitchen design and installation business, married, running the odd half marathon, body surfing in Wales, mountain biking as much as possible, and a passion for snowboarding. Not forgetting a little windsurfing, dune surfing, wakeboarding, and a rather unsuccessful attempt at bare foot water skiing on the river Thames!
Most days now you can find me juggling time between family (my long suffering but very understanding wife and my lovely daughter), work, and my ever increasing appetite for everything outdoors.

As a kid I was never happier than when I was outdoors riding bmx’s. Nothing much has ever changed. As I got older I exchanged the bmx for a skateboard to which I devoted many happy years. In my late teens a broken ankle forced me back onto a bike and kick started my passion for mountain biking. And after 16 years or so, a broken collarbone, and bike trips to destinations as diverse as California, Tenerife, and The Outer Hebrides, the passion still burns bright.
Along the way I’ve worked in sales, and spent 8 years working together with my wife, Jo, running her family’s printing business. In 2005 we decided to sell the business and travelled round Australia and New Zealand for 2 and a half months experiencing such delights as skydiving, glacier hiking, white water rafting, sea kayaking, and just about anything else we could find to ‘quench the thirst’. In the past few years the snowboard bug has also bitten savagely hard, and climbing has been added to the ever growing list of passions.
A career change finds me now part time guiding and fitting kitchens with Gez where given any spare moment you can usually find me lusting over some far flung destination on the map, and planning our next obscure adventure.

“And when they got together, it was murder..”
Dave and I met in 2003 when I arrived at a house he was renovating. I was there to survey the kitchen, but when I clapped eyes on the love of Dave’s life, she was plain but none the less attractive, I knew I had to find out more. So while I lusted after his exotic aluminium creature of beauty (ok so it was just his bike, I think her name was Klein…) we talked trails, bikes, and snowboarding.
A kitchen installed and a friendship forged, the next few years saw the trips coming thick and fast including mtbing in the Cairngorms and Dave hooked on snow. Before long we were also working together, dreams got bigger, plans were made, and ideas hatched, and then finally along came our little bundle of joy.
